Sox-Orioles Preview

aaaaa.jpg Red  The first place Boston Red Sox will be taking on the last place Baltimore Orioles. The Sox and the O’s each had a decent 11-7 interleague record,  and they will both be happy to be back in the American League. The probable starters for tonight are Jon Lester (6-6) 4.68 ERA 106 SO, and Jason Berken for the O’s, (1-4) 6.32 ERA 19 SO. The Orioles will be happy to get Brian Roberts back into the lineup after he got a day-off against the Nats yesterday evening. Don’t let Jason Berken’s numbers decieve, as he is respectively (1-2) with a 4.30 ERA and 16 SO in Camden Yards. If the O’s offense can turn things around for the better, I think they could sweep this two-game series. Most likely, today you will see Matt Wieters catching as Gregg Zaun had his role change and is now the backup catcher. Wieters will now catch about 5 games a week leaving Zaun the last few. The Orioles are surprisingly good at getting the inning started off going 5 for 9 on Sunday. Ty Wiggington also extended his hit streak to 7 games which is halfway compared to his 15 game hit streak in 08′ (the longest of his career.) Ty Wiggington will most likely be playing tonight at 3B with Brian Roberts back at 2B. Talk to you next time on the ORANGE BIRD
