Jones leaves game after running into wall, O’s slumping… again

Adam Jones sprinted to the center field wall in anticipation to catch Kevin “Youk” Youkillis’ home run ball, but instead he hit the wall full force and had the wind knocked out of him. Jones stayed in the game for the second inning until Orioles skipper Dave Trembley pulled him for precautions, with the Sox already winning 4-0. Felix Pie was put in to fill his spot and almost immediately contributed with an RBI triple in the bottom of the third. Although Jones was okay. the Orioles aren’t.

The Orioles are currently losing to division rival The Boston Red Sox (9-1) in which they are currently in a rain delay. Kevin “Youk” Youkillis came up in the first inning with one man on when he sent a blast to center…. the whole Adam Jones incident. And the ball sailed over the wall for a two run home run.

Rich Hill only lasted 3.1 innings with 9 hits 7 ER, and 3 SO. And as I said in the other post, he need K’s not HR’s. Well he gave up two HR’s today as Youkillis got one and Ellsbury got a solo shot in the top of the fourth inning. It seems as if all the Red Sox were hitting as Youkillis has three hits already along with Lugo’s two, Pedroia’s one, Ellsbury’s two, Ortiz’ two, and Baileys’ one hit.

The O’s hitting wasn’t good at all, only getting three hits, one of them being Pie’s RBI triple. If the O’s continue to slump, they will have no chance to get ANY bragging rights, and might have to trade some of their better players.

Cmon O’s wake up. Remember how I commented on Reimold? Well he was in the starting lineup tonight… Thank God the lineup was,

1. Brian Roberts

2. Adam Jones

3. Nick Markakis.

4. Aubrey Huff

5. Nolan Reimold

6. Luke Scott

7. Melvin Mora

8. Matt Wieters

9. Robert Andino.
